Morphology

Morphology is concerned with the structure of words. Morphology can be defined as the study of morphemes.  Morphemes are the smallest meaningful in language. There are two kinds of morphemes, those are: Free morphemes and bound morphemes.
1). Free morphemes are elements that can stand alone as independent words.
      E.g. dog, car.
2). Bound morhemesmorhemes are elements that cannot occur  by themselves as independent words.
      E.g. -s,- ing, -ed.

If we learn about the morphology we will study some terms those are:
a) morph
     Morph is the real of morphemes
b) alomorph
     Alomorph is the name for a form which has known the status.
     Example : (s) : /P,T,K/
                        (Z) : /b, d, g, v, i/
c) stem
     Stem is combination between preffix and suffix
     Example : trustful
d) root
     Root is basic words.
     Example : courage
e) suffix
     Suffix is the morphemes which occur after the stem.
      Example : -ness ( distrustfulness)
f ) preffix
     Preffix is the morphemes which occur before the stem.
      Example : en- ( encourage)
g) affix
     Affix is addition of words
